MANY RESUME WRITERS LACK A KEY INGREDIENT:
Deep management experience in the business world!
Over the past decade I have written over 2,000 successful resumes for clients targeting management positions across dozens of key industries. This experience includes writing resumes for my own company, Vital Resumes, as well as 10 years of experience as a permanent writer for a leading global resume company, GetInterviews.com.
Coupled with my writing talent, I also have deep business insights gained from previous spells as an advertising copywriter in NY as well as creative director and chairman of a 250 person office of one of the world’s largest advertising agencies where I interfaced regularly with key players in multinational companies, from CEOs and Marketing Directors to IT, Engineering, and R&D leaders. Companies that included Coca-Cola, Microsoft, General Motors, J&J, AT&T, L’Oréal and Cathay Pacific Airlines.
In short, while writing talent is important to the creation of a great resume, a gut-level understanding of the industry you’re targeting is just as vital.
“My writing has
sold the world’s greatest products
To the world’s toughest audiences.
I can do the same
for another great product-”
Not Sure Which To Choose?
First, take a look at the 1-Page and 2-Page Resume & Cover Letter samples. This should give you a fair idea of how your own work experience and achievements compare in length to the resume samples. If you’re still not 100% sure which best suits your needs, insert your existing resume or a Word document highlighting the companies you’ve worked for and the positions you’ve held into the box below, and simply click “send” to e-mail me the information. I’ll get back to you within 24 hours with a professional recommendation that I believe will place your own unique career and achievements in the best possible light. (And, no, I won’t automatically recommend the 2-Pager because it costs more! If I feel I can fit your career on one page without weakening it, I’ll recommend one page.)
Geoff spent nearly 2 decades as Senior Copywriter for one of the world’s largest advertising agencies before deciding it was far more satisfying promoting job candidates instead of consumer products. During his advertising career he wrote consistently successful, award-winning advertisements for many of the world’s best-known brands including Coca-Cola, GM, Master Card, Bacardi, Levi’s, Nestle, Nabisco, AT&T, and J&J. He is also one of the few advertising writers to leapfrog over more “finance-driven” executives and rise to the position of Chairman of a large ad agency, a position he held for over 6 years.
This marriage of writing talent and business acumen is one of the reasons why his resumes and cover letters receive such positive reviews from his clients. He not only has the writing talent to compose compelling, well-structured resumes, he also has the business insights into a wide array of industries and the professionals who work in them.
While in the advertising industry he developed close working relationships with CEO’s and CFO’s, engineers and machine operators, sales reps and marketing executives, product scientists and medical practitioners, fashion merchandisers and airline pilots – literally hundreds of highly skilled people across the entire job spectrum.
As a result, he writes resumes with the insights of an insider. And the writing skills of someone who understands the importance of not merely composing a resume, but of creating a powerful brand space for his clients.
